Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009Between March 1944 and April 1945 the SS was running a KZ in Lengerich, Westphalia.
The old railway tunnel was used to build weapons with forced labour of detainees from the main KZ
Neuengamme in Hamburg.
At least 16 prisoners were hanged in the tunnel in front of the others after attempts to escape.
Nowadays the tunnel is empty and no sign suggests the former use.
